Noah Kahan focuses entirely on Vermont for his new album ‘Stick Season.’
He’d made a name for himself as a pop musician, but he wasn’t having fun. He spent his time writing songs and going into the studio to create pop music that he thought would please his record label, but it began to feel like a chore, like work.
He thought of sticks to get unstuck, specifically stick season, that drab time of year in late fall in Vermont when the colorful leaves have fallen from the trees but the white snow has yet to fall from the sky.
