I Rest My Case, which was formerly called Black, is YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s fifth full-length studio album. It comes after 3860, a mixtape he made with Quando Rondo.
After putting out a total of seven projects (five solos) in 2022, YoungBoy announced on November 25, 2022, while previewing “Hell For This” with another Louisiana native, C-Murder, that an album called Black would come out in January 2023.
YoungBoy left Atlantic Records and signed with the well-known Universal Music label. Black is YB’s first release on Motown Records after it was announced that he had left Atlantic Records. Motown had also started teasing new YoungBoy music on Instagram in 2023.
