Asa’s “V” Album is a melodious effort with ten songs starring Wizkid, Amaarae, and The Cavemen. In the new album, Asa focuses on a mix of frenetic, hip-shaking percussion and seductive, laid-back vocals.
When the European leg of Asa’s tour was canceled due to the pandemic, she made a last-minute decision to return to Nigeria, where she started working on new songs and connecting with some of the continent’s most outstanding musicians and creatives. She describes her technique as “a certain carefreeness, letting go, believing in the process, and allowing myself to be vulnerable.”
