American singer, songwriter, rapper, and media personality, Montero Lamar Hill, known by his stage name Lil Nas X has dropped a new song “Industry Baby” with a visual produced by Nick Lee (Producer), Kanye West & Take a Daytrip, featuring Jack Harlow, produced by Take A Daytrip and Kanye West.

“INDUSTRY BABY” sees Lil Nas X recruit Louisville native Jack Harlow for a boisterous song where they rap about their fame and success, blowing up, and their newfound statuses in the rap game. The song was first teased on October 22, 2020 with a snippet showing Nas X dancing to the song with the producer duo, Take a Daytrip. A demo version of the song leaked in full late June 2021, with the demo version using a slightly different instrumental and containing no feature. The music video hit the goal shortly after and Lil Nas officially announced the song on July 19th, through a trailer which portrays him being sentenced to jail in relation to his Nike court case. The trailer revealed the release date, producers, and Jack Harlow as the feature.

Shortly after the Satan shoes were revealed, Nike made clear that it was not involved with the release. The shoe giant then sued MSCHF, claiming that MSCHF’s “unauthorized Satan Shoes are likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association between MSCHF’s products and Nike.” Nike and MSCHF quickly settled the lawsuit.

In recent months, Lil Nas X has performed “Montero” on Saturday Night Live and at the 2021 BET Awards; he also discussed the controversy surrounding the single on Desus & Mero. Lil Nas X followed “Montero” with “Sun Goes Down” and the confirmation that his first studio LP will be titled Montero. Take A Daytrip—the duo of Denzel Baptiste and David Biral—have produced several Lil Nas X songs, working with the rapper on “Panini,” “Rodeo,” and “Holiday.”

Lil Nas X forthcoming debut studio album, Montero, is preceded by the singles “Holiday,” chart-topping single “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and “Sun Goes Down”. He was the most-nominated male artist at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, where he ultimately won awards for Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
