English singer, Anne-Marie Rose Nicholson, has come through with yet another new hit track titled “Kiss My (Uh-Oh)” produced by Mojam & Peter Nappi, off her sophomore album “Therapy.” The album which is the follow-up to her debut, 2018’s Speak Your Mind, which included her smash Marshmello collab, “FRIENDS,” sees features from with KSI, Rudimental and Nathan Dawe.
Anne-Marie and Little Mix met in 2019 during Fusion Festival and exchanged numbers. The collaboration between the artists has been in the talks for a long time. In 2021, Leigh-Anne Pinnock (from Little Mix) done an interview with Capital FM in which she gave a clue of the song: ‘Uh-oh.’ Many mixers found a similarity between the song of the LM5 album, ‘Wasabi.’
“Kiss My (Uh-Oh)” Little Mix and I have been wanting to collaborate for so long. When this song came up, I sent it to Leigh-Anne [Pinnock]. Little Mix made it a hundred times better. It felt good to collaborate with girls, because for some reason, I tend to collaborate with boys. For me, this is song is about realising that someone isn’t treating you right and plucking up the courage to walk away. It samples Lumidee’s ‘Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)’, which is the complete opposite meaning. But I just love that song. It was popping off in Essex when I was younger.
“Therapy” is the second studio album of the English singer Anne-Marie, following her 2018 debut studio album “Speak Your Mind”. The so-called AM2 era started with the song “Birthday”, released on February 7 2020, followed by “Her”, “To Be Young” (Ft. Doja Cat) and “Problems”.
The UK’s first lockdown in 2020 was an eye-opening experience. “For so much of my life, I depended on other people to make me happy,” the Essex singer-songwriter born Anne-Marie Nicholson tells Apple Music. “When I was in 2020 with no one around me, I was like, ‘I don’t quite know how to be happy now.’” And so, forced to confront feelings she’d long suppressed amid hectic schedules and life on the road, she began therapy—and unlocked the inspiration for the follow-up to Speak Your Truth, the huge 2018 debut that took her from in-demand featured artist to one of Britain’s biggest pop talents. “I wrote this album over months of having therapy sessions and writing songs after therapy sessions,” says Anne-Marie. “It’s been an experience, for sure.”
Anne-Marie was born and raised in East Tilbury in Essex. Her father was born in East London, while her mother is from Essex. She has one sister, Samantha. She appeared in two West End productions as a child—Les Misérables when she was six, and Whistle Down the Wind, alongside Jessie J, when she was 12. She has attained charting singles on the UK Singles Chart, including Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”, featuring Sean Paul, which peaked at number one, as well as “Alarm”, “Ciao Adios”, “Friends”, “2002” and “Don’t Play”.
- Why you only lo-o-ove me when I’m walking away?
Only ever wa-a-ant me when I don’t want to stay?
Love the feeling, hittin’ different
I’m not ever looking back
While I’m leaving, I see you staring
Go ahead boy, you can kiss my
