Irish boy band, formed in 1998 in Sligo, Ireland, Westlife announce uplifting new album Wild Dreams, which will be released next month.

Wild Dreams is the upcoming twelfth studio album by Irish pop vocal band Westlife, scheduled to be released on 26 November 2021 by East West Records, their first release on the label. It was preceded by the lead single “Starlight”, released on 14 October 2021

Wild Dreams will include Westlife’s new single titled ‘Starlight’ as well as new live recordings of their hit songs ‘Flying Without Wings’ and ‘World of Our Own’.

After their highly-anticipated return in 2019, ‘Wild Dreams’ will be the first album from Westlife in two years.

Westlife’s return was one of the greatest band comebacks of recent years as the group landed their eighth number one album and acquired their fastest-selling tour to date.

Recorded and curated by the band during an 18 month period, it’s also their first release on new label – Warner subsidiary EastWest – since parting ways with EMI Records following their 2019 Number 1 comeback album, Spectrum.

The album is trailed by lead single Starlight, co-written by Tom Grennan and produced by Jamie Scott (One Direction) and Lostboy (Griff).

“This album means more to us than anything we have done before and has been inspired by the challenges we’ve all overcome over the last 18 months,” the band said in a statement.

“Wild Dreams captures the mood of the moment. The album also offers moments of reflection and is about new beginnings, hope and looking to the future. The music is so relevant to now. It is uplifting stuff and [we] cannot wait for the fans to hear it.”

Westlife have scored 11 Number 1 albums and 13 Number 1 singles in Ireland, and have topped the albums chart in the UK on eight occasions while also notching up 14 UK Number 1 singles.

This puts the lads joint third with Cliff Richards as the act with the most Number 1 singles in the UK. Only The Beatles (17) and Elvis Presley (21) have more.

They disbanded in 2012 and reunited in 2018. They were originally signed by Simon Cowell in the UK, Clive Davis in the US and managed by Louis Walsh and Sonny Takhar.
