Pep Guardiola provides update on Haaland ahead of Fulham clash. Erling Haaland, a Manchester City striker, is “much better,” according to coach Pep Guardiola, who refrained from declaring the Norwegian ready for the match against Fulham on Saturday.
Due to “ligament injuries,” as Guardiola put it, Haaland has missed City’s previous two games across all competitions. Summer acquisition Julian Alvarez started in Haaland’s place.
The Argentine ignited with a goal and an assist in the 3-1 comeback victory over Sevilla in the middle of the week after going scoreless in the 1-0 victory over Leicester. Alvarez’s future as a starter, though, remains a mystery, as Guardiola firmly refused to reveal anything in his pre-match press conference.
